SUKONNA: Tell us about you?
Khushboo Nangalia: Hi, I’m a passionate marketer working in deep partnership with brands & businesses – consulting them as an On-Demand CMO to build and lead marketing teams that can drive revenue through the effective use of modern marketing strategies.
Aside, I also act as a speaker and mentor on brand building, women empowerment and leadership.
I’d started my career in 2008 – while designing websites I found my calling (the Internet). As I’ve worked for various companies in my younger days, such as BeWorks Digital, eRegNow I’ve had always wanted to build my own business. My entrepreneurial journey started at FOURDY with Chetan yet when I was in my high school and as I finished schooling I could join hands with him (my best friend then, better half now) and pursue my passion.
Having worked as a designer, coder in my career start I gradually moved into operations & communication, and eventually into the world of advertising and marketing over the course of time with LINsAD.
Growing up I’ve always admired my dad as a businessman. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Calcutta University. And hold a dual masters degree (MBA) in Business Administration and eBusiness from the Welingkar Institute of Management.
At work I’m passionate about deploying innovative, efficient & resilient processes, delivering high growth results, developing teams and businesses processes that endure – as well strongly believes in the philosophy of Lean as a Growth Strategy to improve business performance.

Our focus is clear:

SUKONNA: What kind of work your organization do?
Khushboo Nangalia: I’ve always been intrigued by the amount of love consumers have for certain brands; paying premium prices, overnight queues, long wait-lists and unquestioned loyalty. I started searching for the ‘why’ behind their fascination for certain brands and I have never stopped looking for an answer since.
Today, I am the founder of BEYOND99. I work with forward-looking companies with a vision of driving digital innovation and integration, all at the base of great marketing strategy that’s not only capable of building such brand awareness but also stimulates the desire among the audience to own the product/service.
Many core business functions stem from a great marketing plan and it’s marketing that stands out as the most effective way to communicate the value proposition of a business to its customers in a fun and interesting way.
Which is why I am excited to help companies discover the power of branding and help them get up to speed as quickly as possible.
We stand for delivering business growth with digital strategy, innovation & execution that can be measured. And our expertise is in myriad of things ranging from

SUKONNA: How did you start?
Khushboo Nangalia: My career started very early like I shared. At the age of 16 I lost my father and lot of follow-up family issue made me strong. Being the elder child I’d the sense of responsibility already sinked in and while in school I managed my dad’s business and picked up a part-time work from home opportunity. It wasn’t the crunch of the money or to support family that got me started but I really had the quest of learning more and make it on my own – that’s how it started!
SUKONNA: When did you start your journey and how was it?
Khushboo Nangalia: I’d started working at the age of 17 and since then there is no looking back.
The journey has been tough and pleasurable, both. But could definitely say the hard work that we put never goes unpaid. I’ve started out from data entry to sales and then absolutely switched into the web industry – developing myself into a proficient frontend developer in initial couple of years of my start and paving my way ahead in strategy and communications. I worked hard, learned quickly and got early precedence. But it was never easy. And I missed out on a lot of things that most people my age (18 then) were doing at the time. Parties, sporting events, the usual stuff for high school and college kids. However, I matured quickly. And above any other skills, I learnt life!
Along the way was honoured to work with some top-notch firm in India and build relationships that counts.
Like we say, everything takes time so it does and our hard work & perseverance shined. In 2015, I’d the opportunity of moving to Malaysia and explore the advertising world working directly with a 4A advertising agency. This gave me an opportunity to work like an intrepreneur and be able to head the digital division of agency to leverage in the changing advertising world.
I’ve worked on brands from diverse industries such as Fashion, Food & Restaurant, Jewellry, Aviation, Events, Transportation, Travel & Hospitality, Real Estate & Property, eCommerce, Retail & B2B etc. as well as non-profit and government sectors.
SUKONNA: Who is the inspiration behind your decision to become an entrepreneur?/ What motivated & inspired you?
Khushboo Nangalia: Like the saying goes ‘An entrepreneur is someone who jumps off a cliff and builds a plane on the way down’ so it applies to me in a way. It wasn’t a conscious decision for me to fall out and build a business. I did realise early that I love meeting people and like to proactively lead things; Am willing to work hard to defy the odds that come my way. Always up for it.
SUKONNA: Are you involved with any others organization?
Khushboo Nangalia: Yes, I believe in association and deep partnerships therefore involved with other brands too. I’m connected with everyone I ever worked with – especially with FOURDY & LINsAD in a way where I can still add a value. Also, I’m associated and attached strongly with #WomenofImpact initiative for a better good of women as a community.
If you believe in collaboration and believe we can co-create to add something wonderful to this space (web) – feel free to spark a connection at email@example.com 🙂
SUKONNA: What is your future plan?
Khushboo Nangalia: I’m keen to build a platform for women to be inspired and empowered by the experiences and knowledge of the other women in the world. We are already started building the community as #WomenofImpact and interviewing experts on various topics – soon wish to feature activists, artists, CEOs, peacemakers, entrepreneurs, and homemakers who have enriched lives and shattered glass ceilings in every sphere.
When it comes to work – for me, it’s not the brand per se, but the people behind the brands. I love working with forward-looking business leaders who are ambitious and committed to action. I particularly enjoy working with family businesses and second/third generation business leaders who want to change and grow.
With them, I want to grow BEYOND99 to consult and implement world-class marketing strategies.
SUKONNA: Can you tell us about any habits you have/things you do, which set up success every day?
Khushboo Nangalia: We all know there is no one mantra for success.
But with the time I have spent learning about the successful people, there are few things that most of them have in common and I believe in:
#1 Workout every morning – Often workout is mistaken as only physical fitness but to know it also helps to repair our brain cell. So recharge your day with the mental and physical strength to be at your best whole day.
#2 Schedule for a week ahead – I like to believe that things which are not scheduled are things which always remain vague. To make sure we give time to everything in life it’s important to schedule; Best to use your Sunday morning to plan the next 7 days.
#3 Deliver beyond expected – Now a day when we go out for a meal it’s either what we expect or even less. Our goal should be to take that extra effort and deliver more than expected to our team, clients, colleague, family to be the odd (special) one.
#4 Be 60mins Student – Read every day for at least an hour to make sure you keep learning, this gives a competitive edge.
#5 Self-Reflection – Have a personal time speaking with your own self to feel day & its accomplishments every day towards the end.
SUKONNA: What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Khushboo Nangalia: Think Big. Act Small. Fail Cheap. Learn Fast.
In all of my experience in the fast paced world of tech startups, even in enterprise level companies with hundreds of millions of users, failing quickly is the safest path to product success. There are other ways to get there, but this removes the most risk from a time and cash flow perspective.
The slow rollout – I always recommend this to startups and entrepreneurs that I advise.
SUKONNA: Your favorite quote is…
Khushboo Nangalia: Be persistent. Keep trying.
SUKONNA: Thanks a lot, Khushboo Nangalia for sharing your story with our readers.
Khushboo Nangalia: Thank you for giving me the opportunity!
